I have been looking for quite some time for an entertainment center or console for my TV. I didn't want one of those cheap looking plastic ones where you can see all your junk and the cords. I was wanting a solid piece of furniture but everything I found I couldn't afford. I saw a dresser refurbish on Pinterest that I absolutely loved. You can check it out here. I then started looking for an old junker dresser to refurbish. I never found a piece but my Dad, shout out, found this heavy oak dresser in a dilapidated house. Here are some before pictures.

A big thanks to Dad for finding this jewel and a second thanks to Hubby who went in the rat infested place with my dad to carry it out. My dad told me about the house to see if I was interested in taking a look. I said YES! I love looking in old, scary, almost falling down houses. It makes me feel like an adventurer. Now I know you are dying to take a closer look at this lovely gem.
Now that you have seen all the yuckiness of this dresser, you might be asking yourself how I could make this lovely. I gloved and masked up to prevent the transfer of airborne disease from rat feces. Next, I cleaned it all up and sanded it down, along with some help from my wonderful husband. I stained the dresser and then wallpapered the inside of the drawers. I recruited my mother to help with the wallpapering. I had never wallpapered anything in my life before and am extremely thankful for all her help. So here is the final product...Drum Roll Please.
Now you might be asking yourself why I named this post, "Can you spell FREE?" I didn't pay for a single thing for this refurbish with the exception of wallpaper paste. So maybe it wasn't quite free but 5 buckaroos is pretty close to free.
